Marijuana – And Its Many Names
Grass, Pot, Weed, Buds, Skunk, Cabbage, Mull, Chronic, Dak, Hash, Smoke, Dagga, Herb, Mary Jane, Ganja, Dope or what ever you want to call it. Derived from the hemp plant, marijuana is the most frequently used and readily available drug in this country. In a recent study done by the “Centre for Social and Health Outcomes Research and Evaluation”, to measure the availability of marijuana in NZ, the average availability of cannabis was rated as 1.1 (on a scale of 1-4 where 1 is very easy and 4 is very difficult).
Marijuana is easy to test for however the test must be done as soon as possible as THC (the intoxicating ingredient in cannabis) stays in a casual users system for 1 to 7 days but this is dependant on a number of factors.
